More Than Shame explores what happens when a person is consumed by anger and the devastation it leaves in its wake. Inspired by my relationship with my father, the song reflects the violence, emotional abuse, and shaming that shaped my childhood while touching on the destructive patterns often associated with narcissistic abuse. At its heart, however, this is not a song about the abuser—it is about survival and healing. After years of recovery, I was finally able to let go of the burden of carrying someone else's rage and insanity. The song ultimately becomes one of empowerment, recognizing that true freedom came from loving myself enough to walk away from abuse. In the end, forgiveness wasn't about excusing what happened—it was about refusing to let it define my life any longer.

Mother

Mother was the second song I ever wrote. It emerged during my own recovery from a childhood shaped by mental illness, violence, and the longing for safety.

Written in my twenties, the song was born of a daughter's voice, desperately wishing her mother would leave and bring an end to the chaos. Years later, after my mother's passing, I rediscovered the song. Three years after her death, I decided to record it.

I knew it wasn't perfect. It was simple, raw, and unguarded. It carried the voice of the little girl who had never been heard.

Today, Mother has become the emotional engine behind The Reckoning, an original musical exploring family secrets, accountability, resilience, and the search for truth. What began as a private expression of grief and longing has grown into the heart of a larger story—one that asks what becomes possible when silence is finally broken.
